86-TARIK Beled sûresinden sonra Mekke'de inmiştir, 17 (onyedi) âyettir. Adını, 1. âyette geçen "târık" kelimesinden alır. Târık, geceleyin gelen, şiddetlice vuran, kapı çalan demektir. Sûrede geçen târık ise gece fazla ışık saçan yıldıza denir ki, bu, sabah yıldızıdır. Mecâzî olarak da ünlü kişiye denir. Bir edebî sanat olarak cahiliye devri geceye, o devirde gelen Hz. Peygamber de geceyi aydınlatan ve sabahı müjdeleyen sabah yıldızına benzetilmiş olabilir.   1- Andolsun o göğe ve Târık'a, 2- Târık nedir, bildin mi? 3- O, karanlığı delen yıldızdır. 4- Hiçbir nefis yoktur ki başında bir denetleyici bulunmasın. 5- Onun için insan neden yaratıldığına bir baksın. 6- Atılan bir sudan yaratıldı. 7- O su, erkeğin sulbü ile kadının göğüs kemikleri arasından çıkar. 8- Elbette Allah'ın onu döndürmeye gücü yeter. 9- O gün bütün sırlar yoklanıp, meydana çıkarılır. 10- İnsanın o gün ne bir gücü vardır, ne de bir yardımcısı. 11- Andolsun o dönüşlü göğe, 12- O yarılıp çatlayan yere, 13- Kuşkusuz Kur'ân, ayırıcı bir sözdür. 14- O asla bir şaka değildir. 15- Haberin olsun ki, kâfirler hep hile kuruyorlar. 16- Ben de hilelerine karşılık veririm. 17- Onun için sen kâfirlere mühlet ver, onlara az bir zaman tanı.

86. The Night Visitant (At-Táiq)   Revealed before the Hijrah. This chapter has 17 verses. In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.   1. By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 2. And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 3. (It is) the Star of piercing brightness;- 4. There is no soul but has a protector over it. 5. Now let man but think from what he is created! 6. He is created from a drop emitted- 7. Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 8. Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 9. The Day that (all) things secret will be tested, 10. (Man) will have no power, and no helper. 11. By the Firmament which giveth the returning rain, 12. And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 13. Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 14. It is not a thing for amusement. 15. As for them, they are but plotting a scheme, 16. And I am planning a scheme. 17. Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: give respite to them gently (for awhile).
